Deaf Events Among Families, a non-profit organization, seeks to provide a safe network for all deaf, hard of hearing and hearing parents within the greater Rochester area.
Deaf Events Among Families Circle loves camp time! In fact, we enjoy seeing the children’s happy faces while they are playing at camp. DEAF Circle has been granting scholarships for the past 20 years. Each year we fund raise to keep supporting our camp scholarship program.
Each year, DEAF Circle grants children some monetary support to help them be able to attend a camp of their choice. The requirements include having a child fill out the form, obtain a reference letter from their teacher, and write or sign a video with a short description of who they are, where they like to go to camp, and why. If selected, the child needs to send us a short summary of their fun camp experience (submit material after the camp is finished).
The grant is only given out on a one-time basis. So if your child has received it before, we will only recognize new applicants each year. We caution parents and family members to be aware upfront that we do not give out full amounts to cover any camp stay. Still, we grant enough to help offset some costs.
